The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up 12 top-ten finishes today as the Lions competed in the 2014 Missouri S&T/Dewey Allgood Invitational.
The men's 5k led the way as the Lions went 1-5 in the race. Andrew Webster took home the title in the event with a time of 15:11.10, nearly a four second personal best. Tyler Rush was second, while Adrian Todd, Jake Bentonand Ryan Jackson placed third through fifth in the event.
Clark Tanksley won the high jump with a provisional height of 6-09.50. Morgan Hold and Brady Melugin placed second in the pole vault, while Zach Wuest was fifth.
Darion Boure placed third in the long jump with a provisional distance of 23-08.75, while Tylor Albright was fifth.Jazz Allen was second in the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.72 and was third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.41. Drew Buckner placed fifth in the 1,500m in a time of 4:12.74.
Nathan Henry won the 3k steeple with a time of 9:54.48, while Drake Smelser was second. Miles Migliara finished second in the 800m with a time of 1:55.09, nearly a two second personal best.
The Lions will be back in action next Friday when Southern plays host to the Bill Williams/Bob Laptad Invitational inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
