MSSU golf tied for eighth after two days at MIAA championships

The Missouri Southern golf team is in a tie for eighth after two days in the 2014 MIAA Golf Championships held at Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan.

Ryan Buerk and Ryan Russell are both tied for 20th overall with a two-day total of 151. Buerk carded a 77 today, while Russell shot a 75 in day two. Taylor Lansford shot an 80 today and has a two-day total of 158, while Ethan Hutcheson equalled Lansford's total of 158 with a day two score of 77. Andrew Maier rebounded from a first-round 88 to shoot 76 today and finish with a two-day score of 164.

Central Missouri shot an even-par 288 today and lead second place Northeastern State and Washburn by 23 strokes. Lincoln is in fourth, followed by Lindenwood, Missouri Western, Central Oklahoma, Southern, Nebraska-Kearney, Fort Hays, Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist to round out the team scores.

The Lions will be back in action as the final round will start at 8:30 AM.
