Missouri Southern women's track wins Emporia State Relays

The Missouri Southern women's track and field team took home the title Saturday at the 2014 State Farm/Emporia State Relays. 
The Lions scored 96.75 points to take the team title in front of second-place Emporia State as the Hornets scored 94 points of their own. Northwest Missouri was third, followed by Pittsburg State and Central Missouri to round out the top five team scores. 
Amber White had a big meet, winning the 200m in a time of 24.85, while taking third in the 400m in a time of 56.83. Kindra Emberton placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:21.00, while placing fourth in the 1,500m in a time of 4:52.63. Dana Roberson was right on Emberton's tail in the race as she finished fifth in a time of 4:52.84.Kelly Jo Roberts was tenth in the event. 
Kaitlyn Belisle wsa second in the 3k, but was the top collegiate athlete in the event with a time of 10:15.84. Dora Eastin and Sierra Gray placed 5th and 7th in the event. 
Emily Harris was second in the 5k in a time of 17:59.41, while Whitney Hardy and Shelby Sutherland placed 2nd and 4th in the high jump. Hardy had a height of 5-5, while Sutherland cleared 5-1. 
Kaylee Morgan was third in the long jump with a provisional distance of 19-02.50, while Taitum Mead and Shelby Newell placed 10th and 11th in the event. Newell was sixth in the triple jump in a distance of 36-10.50, whileMahogany Jones placed 12th. 
Kylie Cornman was second in the shot put with a heave of 47-05.25. The distance is a provisional mark and ranks sixth nationally in the event. Cornman then pulled in a 14th-place finish in the hammer throw.
