Looking for a great way to get your kids outside and active this summer? Joplin Parks and Recreation Department has the solution: summer recreational sports. For ages 3-6, it’s a great way to introduce your little ones to having fun with outdoor sports.
Lil’ Hitters T-Ball for ages 3 and 4 will teach your little ones the fundamentals of T-Ball, including throwing, batting, and the basic rules of the game. The league runs May 15 through June 5, with sessions set for 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Thursdays. The registration fee is $28 and includes an official baseball shirt and trophy. Participants must supply their own glove.
The Summer T-Ball League for ages 5 and 6 starts May 13, and will meet on Tuesdays. The registration fee is $39 and includes 6 games, a jersey, hat, award, and end of the season pool party at the Joplin Aquatic Center.
