Mark Mulder planning comeback

Mark Mulder has not pitched in the major leagues since 2008, but the former St. Louis Cardinals lefty is mounting a comeback attempt.

Mulder says his arm issue is a thing of the past. His last good season was his first year with the Cardinals in 2005 when he won 16 games, mainly on grit because even then his arm was gone. He stayed with the team through 2008, but was never effective again and spent most of his time on the disabled list.

Mulder's prime years were spent with the Oakland A's where he teamed with Tim Hudson and Barry Zito for several seasons in one of the strongest rotations in the major leagues.
