The winter baseball meetings are next week and the Yankees, as usual, are the center of attention.
They have already been busy, losing free agents Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson, but signing former Cardinal right fielder Carlos Beltran, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Brian McCann.
The New York Post speculates today that the Yankees may use their surplus of outfielders (they not only have Beltran, Brett Gardner, and Ellsbury, but also Alfonso Soriano and believe it or not nowhere to play future Hall-of-Famer Ichiro Suzuki) to trade for Brandon Phillips, the Reds' second baseman that Cardinal fans love to hate.
