MLB.com is reporting that Tim McCarver will join the Fox Sports Midwest Cardinals broadcasting team for 20 to 25 games during the 2014 season.
McCarver, who has called network baseball for either Fox, CBS, or ABC for three decades, retired from Fox at the end of the 2013 season and never said he did not plan on continuing to work.
Reportedly, McCarver's hiring will not affect anyone's jobs. With Mike Shannon cutting down on his radio workload, FSM broadcasters Al Hrabosky and Rick Horton will continue to take up the slack on radio as they did last season while Shannon was recovering from surgery.
Dan McLaughlin will continue doing play-by-play for most of FSM's games.
