Reports are surfacing that Tim McCarver, who just retired from his long-time job as Fox Sports baseball analyst has been in talks with Fox Sports Midwest and KMOX to return to the St. Louis Cardinals, where he played on World Championship teams in 1964 and 1967.
Actually, McCarver would most likely not be sharing a booth with Shannon. Shannon, 74, has been cutting down on the number of games he works and is expected to continue to do so in 2014. When he has been gone, TV analysts Al Hrabosky and Rick Horton have filled in.
If McCarver, who never said he was leaving broadcasting entirely, signs on with the Cardinals team, he would probably do a limited schedule.
