MLB.com reports the Dodgers are close to signing veteran reliever Chris Perez, who has been closing games for Cleveland the last few years before he was given his release following the 2013 season.
St. Louis Cardinals fans will remember that when the Cardinals wanted a veteran presence for the team a few years back, the Indians offered Mark DeLaRosa and the Cardinals had to choose between two youjng relievers and ended up keeping Jason Motte and sending Perez to Cleveland.
