MSSU softball to hold advanced skills camp this summer

The Missouri Southern State Softball program will be hosting an Advanced Skills, Cub & Lioness camps this summer. All camps will take place on the campus of MSSU with instruction from head coach Bill Gray, assistant coach Nicole Hudson and team members.
Advanced Skills: The Advanced Skills camp is for ages 13-18 and will run June 2nd & 3rd. Strictly for junior high and high school athletes or athletes that have attended the MSSU Skills Camp multiple years, student-athletes of the advanced skills camp will receive specific on the field technique instruction as well as getting instruction on weight training, nutrition, and the mental preparation for practice and game day.
An overnight camp, participants will experience dorm and cafeteria life on a college campus. The camp will consist of 10 hours of instruction, a Missouri Southern softball t-shirt, campus housing, three meals and evening entertainment. The cost for resident campers is $225 while commuter campers will be $200. The camp will begin at 9:00 a.m. on June 2nd and conclude at noon on the 3rd.
Cub Camp: For ages 6-12, Cub Camp is for the younger player or the first time player. Instruction will focus on throwing, catching, hitting, infield and outfield play. Campers will be grouped by experience and skill level. The camp will run from June 9-11 and will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon daily. The cost is $80 and campers will receive a t-shirt. The registration deadline for cub camp is June 2nd.
Lioness Camp: The Lioness Camp is for the experienced player ages 12-18. Players will be grouped by experience and skill level. Age exceptions may be made with the understanding that no special accommodations will be made for campers outside of the above age group. Instruction will focus on throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, infield and outfield play. Specific position skill work will be done in the afternoon sessions. Positions include first base, second base, third base, short stop and outfield. Campers should bring a sack lunch each day. Lioness camp will run on June 16 and 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day and cost $180. The registration deadline for lioness camp is June 9th.
