The Missouri Southern athletic department has announced the 2014 football schedule as the Lions will have six home games and five road contests this fall.
Southern will start the season with a pair of Thursday night games as the Lions open on the road at Emporia State with a 7 pm start on September 4. Southern's home opener will be on September 11 at 6:30 pm against Northwest Missouri as the Lions take on the defending National Champions inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
Southern will come back home on September 27th for the first home Saturday game against Washburn and that game will kick off at 6:30 pm.
Homecoming 2014 will be on October 4 against Central Missouri. That game will be part of the MIAA TV package and will kick off at approximately 2:37 pm.
The Lions will play at home on October 18th against Northeastern State in a 1 pm start. The 2014 Sonic Miners Bowl will be on November 1 against Pittsburg State with that me kicking off at 7 pm.
Southern's final home game will be on November 15 and will be Senior Day. That game will kick off at 1 pm.
Fans can get a chance to check out the 2014 look of the Lions by coming to the annual Green and Gold Spring game this Saturday, April 12 at 9 am inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
