Senior forward Dominique Mosley was named the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office today.
Helping the Lions win two non-conference road games this past week, the Chicago native scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds in Southern's 82-56 win at Rockhurst Saturday. She went 10-13 from the field while going a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line and grabbed 7 of the Lions 9 offensive rebounds.
She also scored 24 points while snagging seven rebounds and swiping a career-high five steals earlier in the week in an 84-54 win at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
On the season, Mosley is averaging 19.5 points per contest, which ranks third in the MIAA, while grabbing 9.2 rebounds per game, fourth in the MIAA. She is shooting 57.3% (47-82) from the field, eighth-best in the MIAA, while hitting 74.2% (23-31) from the free-throw line. She also has a team-high 11 steals and eight blocks.
Southern opens MIAA play at home on Thursday hosting Nebraska-Kearney (3-3) at 5:30 p.m. at Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
