Missouri Southern senior thrower Kylie Cornman has been named the MIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Cornman, a native of Mountain View, Mo., placed fourth in the shot put at the University of Kansas Jayhawk Classic this past week. The senior picked up a strong provisional mark of 49-02.25 and was the top D-2 athlete in the event, finishing behind only two Kansas athletes and a pro. The mark currently ranks her fourth nationally and was just four inches from an AQ in the event.
Cornman and the Lions will play host to the MSSU Lion Invitational this Friday and Saturday inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
