-- Whitney Hardy picked up a strong provisional in the high jump and the Missouri Southern women's track and field team competed at the 2014 Jayhawk Classic Friday.
Hardy placed second in the high jump with a height of 5-07.75 and picked up a provisional in the process. She currently ranks sixth in Division II in the event.
Kylie Cornman picked up a provisional in the shot put as she hit a distance of 49-02.25 to place fourth in the event. Cornman also placed 10th in the weight throw. Cassy Kendrick was third in the morining session of the 3k with a time of 10:40.75, while Lizzy Kirby placed seventh in the event.
Kaylee Morgan placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 17-09.75, while Brittni Reagan was seventh in the triple jump and Morgan was eighth in the event. Ashleigh McFarland placed seventh in the pole vault with a height 10-11.75.
Sierra Gray was third in the morning session of the mile, while Sydney Potts was second in the 600y morning session. Emily Harris was third in the afternoon session of the mile with a time of 5:07.90, while Kindra Emberton was fifth in the afternoon session of the 1k, while Kayla Bartlesmeyer and Kelly Jo Roberts placed sixth and seventh in the morning session of the event.
Kaitlyn Blile was third in the afternoon session of the 3k with a time of 10:19.90, while Jackie Wallace and Morgan placed 27th and 29th in the morning session of the 200m.
Emily Paullus was 21st in the morning session of the 600y, while Amber White was fifth in the morning session of the 400m. Dana Roberson was fourth in the 800m morning session, while White and Shelby Newell placed 11th and 13th in the triple jump.
The Lions will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, when Southern plays host to the MSSU Lion Invite at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
