Chris Carpenter to remain with Cardinals

MLB.com is reporting that former Cardinal ace Chris Carpenter, who last pitched for the team in 2012 and officially retired in November, will remain with the team, working in the front office:

Carpenter's new role, which has not yet been titled, will not be a uniformed one. Rather, he'll get an introduction to various front-office and scouting duties by working with(General Manager John) Mozeliak and other members of the baseball operations staff.
"We're going to try to come up with the curriculum for him that allows him to get exposure to the different elements of our front office. I welcome that," Mozeliak said. "I've known him a long time, and I think his insights could be valuable. I think the key is, how do we harness it? How do we come up with something that isn't too overwhelming in the first month or year, but also keeps him interested?"
