MSSU men's track fares well at Jayhawk Classic

 The Missouri Southern men's track and field team competed at the 2014 Jayhawk Classic and came away with strong results Friday.
Jeff Fraley placed second in the 60m dash with a provisional time of 6.78, equaling his time from two weeks ago. Fraley also picked up a strong provisional in the 200m in the afternoon session, placing second with a time os 21.98. That mark places him 8th in Division II at the moment. 
Eric Schott won the afternoon session of the 3k with a time of 8:34.83, narrowly missing a provisional in the event. 
In the pole vault, Brady Melugin placed sixth with a strong provisional of 16-07.75 that currently ranks him third nationally in Division II. Michael Juergens had a provisional height of 15-07 and placed eighth. 
Darion Boure picked up a provisional in the triple jump with a distance of 48-04.00 and that mark currently places him 8th in Division II. In the long jump, Tylor Albright placed 11th, while Boure placed 13th. 
Tyler Rush and Colton Rooldridge placed second and fifth in the morning session of the mile run, whileAndrew Webster placed third in the afternoon session. Anthony Price was 8th in the 400m dash, while Miles Migliara and Drew Buckner placed second and 17th, respectively in the 800m. 
Erron Holley and Price were 20th and 28th in the 200m, while Ryan Jackson and Adrian Todd placed fourth and fifth in the morning session of the 3k. 
Ryan Burns placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 52-09.50, while Nicklas Polizzi was ninth. Burns also placed 12th in the shot put. 
The Lions will be back in action next weekend as Southern plays host to the MSSU Lion Invite at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center on Friday and Saturday.
