MSSU freshman Luallen laads in heptathlon after first day of MIAA championships

Warrensburg, Mo. -- Missouri Southern freshman Claire Luallen leads the pack after day one of the heptathlon in the 2019 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Central Missouri.

Luallen has a 99-point lead over second-place, while fellow freshman Miracle Grant is in 13th place. Luallen tallied 3,054 points on day one and Grant has 2,406.

Luallen started the day with a win in the 100m, hurdles racing to a time of 14.25. She then posted fourth-place showings in both the high jump and shot put, with marks of 5-01.75 in the high jump and 35-01.75 in the shot put.








 Luallen finished off the day with a win in the 200m, racing to a time of 25.58.

Luallen and Grant will finish up the event tomorrow morning starting at 10 am.
