The NCAA announced today (Aug. 24) that Pittsburg State University's home football game against the University of Central Missouri on Oct. 20 has been selected for the NCAA Showcase.
The contest is part of 19 regular-season football games that will be showcased on either ESPN3 or NCAA social media as part of a new media agreement intended to promote the division on several platforms throughout the academic year.
The Gorillas match-up against the Mules will be distributed through a hybrid model used for local television and online distribution. The games also will be available on The MIAA Network.
More details regarding broadcast information will be released at a later date.
"We are excited to be a part of the 2018 NCAA Showcase and the opportunity it presents to showcase the Gorillas, the PSU campus and Gorilla Nation on a national platform," PSU athletic director Jim Johnson said. "We feel like we have the best game day atmosphere in Division II and we're always eager to expose a larger audience to the Pitt State experience."
Kickoff for the game will move from 2 p.m. (CDT) to 2:05 p.m.
