The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams had five individuals named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team and both teams earned the Team Award, the organization announced recently.
To earn the honor, student-athletes had to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
The men had three individuals earn the honor (Jordyn Manier, Kyle Parr and Matt Willis), while the women were represented by Jordan Banker and Allie Heckemeyer.
In total, 308 men and 405 women throughout NCAA Division II earned individual honors.
In order to earn the Scholar Team Award, teams must have maintained a cumulative 3.00 GPA during the season. The Southern men had a 3.05 GPA, while the women had a 3.54 GPA. A total of 216 programs earned the team award.
