MSSU men's, women's cross country rank nationally

The Missouri Southern men's and women's cross country teams have started the season amongst the regional and national cross country rankings as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its national polls today.

The Southern men open the season as the third-ranked team in the Central Region, while ranked 20th nationally. The Lions are the top-ranked team from the MIAA and only men's team in the top 25. Southern was recently picked to win the MIAA Title in the preseason coaches poll.



The Southern women will open the season as the 10th-ranked women's team in the Central Region. The Lions were recently picked to finish third in the MIAA preseason coaches poll.

Both the Southern men and women will open up the 2018 season this Saturday as the Lions travel to Bolivar to compete in the SBU Invite at Bolivar Municipal Golf Course. The women's race will begin at 8:30 am, while the men will begin at 9 am.
