The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams have moved up in the national polls as the latest Division II poll was released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association of America (USTFCCCA).
The Southern men moved up to sixth nationally. It is the highest the men have been ranked in the five years the coaches have been doing the poll. The Lions have been ranked for the last 20 weeks in a row and 36 of the 37 total polls the association has put out.
The Southern women are up to 24th this week after 26th last week. The women have been ranked every week the poll has been conducted. The highest the women have been ranked was tenth after the team finished tenth at the 2010 Division II Indoor Championships.
The Lions will be back in action this weekend sending groups of athletes to both the University of Missouri and Central Missouri.
