Missouri Southern sophomore distance runner Addie Mengwasser has been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team, the organization announced today.
To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must first maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA or higher and finish in the top 30 percent of all athletes at their respective regional competition or in the top 50 percent at the National Championships.
The Lions finished fourth at the MIAA Championships this year and 12th at the NCAA Central Regional meet. Mengwasser, a Chamios, Mo. navive, carries a 3.68 cumulative GPA in health promotion and wellness at Southern.
