Norman, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team picked up nine provisionals at the Oklahoma Baptist Invite this weekend held at the indoor facility on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
Jasmin Hughes won the 200m dash with a provisional time of 25.20 to move her to 15th nationally in Division II.Amber White picked up a win in the 400m with a time of 56.73 that placed her 11th nationally. Brittani Reaganwon the triple jump with a provisional distance of 39-08.00 that ranks her 7th nationally. White and Shelby Newell each had provisional marks of their own, finishing second and third, respectively in the event. Reagan finished third in the long jump with a provisional mark of 18-08.50, ranking her 15th nationally. Taitum Mead and Newell placed eighth and 15th in the event, respectively.
Kylie Cornman won the shot put with a provisional distance of 47-09.25, while placing fourth in the weight throw. Kelly Jo Roberts finished 10th in the 800m, while Dana Roberson and Kayla Bartelsmeyer placed 7th and 10th in the mile run. Cassy Kendrick improved her best time in the 3k, by nearly 20 seconds, placing third with a time of 10:24.17, while Sierra Gray placed 8th in the event.
Emilly Paullus was fifth in the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.28, while Mead placed seventh. The distance medley relay team of Kindra Emberton, White, Sydney Potts and Emily Harris picked up a provisional and placed second in the event with a time 12:18.59. Whitney Hardy won the high jump in a provisional height of 5-05.75, whileTaylor Alumbaugh placed eighth.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend sending athletes to both the University of Nebraska and Central Missouri.
