The Missouri Southern men's cross country team had four individuals named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team, the organization announced today.
To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must first maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA or higher and finish in the top 30 percent of all athletes at their respective regional competition or in the top 50 percent at the National Championships.
Senior Jake Benton led the way for the Lions, who finished second at the MIAA Championships this year, third at the regional and 19th at the NCAA Championships in Spokane. The Wentzville, Mo. native carries a perfect 4.00 GPA in biology at Southern.
Joining Benton on the list were juniors Colton Wooldridge and Adrian Todd, as well as sophomore Ryan Jackson.
