The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams will continue the 2019 indoor season as the Lions travel to Northwest Missouri State tomorrow to compete in the Northwest Open.
This event will take place in the brand new Hughes Fieldhouse which will host the 2019 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will see Northwest Washburn, Missouri Western, Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State, along with the Lions as MIAA teams competing. UMKC will be the lone Division I team competing as 23 total schools will be represented at the meet.
Events will begin on Saturday morning at 11 am with the women's 5k starting the running events and the men's weight throw and long jump, as well as the women's shot put, high jump, pole vault and long jump starting the field events.
This meet will be the first of five remaining events on the schedule for the Lions before the MIAA Championships at the end of February.
