MSSU golfers rained out

The final round of the Missouri Intercollegiate was cancelled today due to rain.
The Lions finished second out of the 13 team field, finishing ahead of MIAA schools Lindenwood, Missouri Western, Lincoln and Southwest Baptist. The Lions also finished ahead of GLVC members William Jewell, Drury, and Rockhurst.
The Lions were led by senior Ryan Buerk, who shot a team low 144 (70-74), on the course at The Club at Porto Cima. In his Lions' debut, freshman Aaron Shoemakershot a 148 (75-73), while sophomore Taylor Lansford carded a 149 (76-73). JuniorEthan Hutcheson rounded out the scoring for Southern with a two round total of 155 (83-72). The fifth Lion making the trip, freshman Connor Neil, finished day one with a 165 (87-78).
Buerk finished tied for fourth place on the individual side at even par, Shoemaker tied for 12th at four over and Lansford tied for 17th at five over.
The Lions will be back in action next Monday, September 8, as they travel to Old Kinderhook Country Club in Camdenton, Mo for an MIAA points even hosted by the Lincoln University Blue Tigers.
