Missouri Southern freshman kicker Brock Renken has been named the MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week, the league announced today.
Renken, a 6-1 native of Joplin, helped the Lions to a 34-17 victory at Nebraska-Kearney this past weekend. He hit 2-3 field goals on the day, connecting from 35 and 39, while going 4-4 on extra points and averaging 61 yards on kickoffs.
Renken and the Lions will play host to Washburn University this Saturday at 6:30 pm inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium. The game will also serve as the annual Hall of Fame game for the MSSU Athletics Department.
