MSSU volleyball falls 3-0 to Missouri Western

The Missouri Southern Volleyball team fell three sets to none to Missouri Western tonight in the Lions' home opener. Individual set scores were 19-25, 20-25 and 17-25. 
The Lions (4-9, 1-4 MIAA) were led offensively by Callie Whetstone as the junior had 11 kills and hit .625 in the match. Abby Finder had 27 assists and five digs, while Katie Politte added nine kills and six digs. Krishna Merriman had seven kills and six digs, while Katie Wiele and Jacy Ermel had seven and six kills, respectively. 
Western (10-3, 4-1 MIAA) had three with double-figure digs, led by 14 from Erica Rottinghaus. The Griffons hit .350 as a team. 
There were six tied scores in the set with three coming in the first set, while there were five lead changes. 
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow as they play host to Northwest Missouri at 2 pm from Young Gymnasium.
