MSSU track and field wins one event, picks up seven provisionals at Arkansas Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Missouri Southern track and field team picked up seven NCAA provisional qualifying marks and one event win as the Lions competed at Arkansas Invitational inside the Randall Tyson Indoor Centre on Friday.

The fifth-ranked women and the ninth-ranked men opened the 2020 portion of the season after nearly a month off.

Earning NCAA Provisional marks for the women were Samantha Petry (pole vault) and Jasmine Deckard (60 meter). On the men's side, Brendan Watkins (long jump and triple jump) and Josh Norville (long jump) posted Provisional qualifying marks. Josh Fulmer (weight throw) and Dean Howard (pole vault) also posted provisional marks.The lone win came from Kirsten Lesinger and Alexandra Rodriguez tied for first in the weight throw with throws of 16.55 meters.

Complete results are listed below. The Lions will be back in action on January 25 as Southern competes at Pittsburg State.
