MSU women prepare for weekend home games against Illinois State, Bradley

Missouri State carries a three-game winning streak into a pair of Missouri Valley Conference home games this weekend at JQH Arena. 
    The Lady Bears (7-9, 3-2) moved up to fourth in the league stands after a pair of dominating road victories at Evansville and Southern Illinois, and welcome Illinois State (4-12, 1-4) to JQH Arena at 7 p.m. Friday before hosting Bradley (5-11, 1-4) at 2 p.m. Sunday.
    Several promotions are in place at The Q this weekend, beginning with recognition of the MSU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2017 at halftime on Friday. The Illinois State game is also being billed as a "Black Out", with free black t-shirts available while supplies last.
    Sunday is Alumni Day, with a special halftime recognition of the 1992 Final Four team planned.

Series Histories
Missouri State leads Illinois State 39-31 in the all-time series and has won nine of the last 12 meetings. The Lady Bears own a 22-12 series lead in Springfield.
    MSU is 51-23 all-time against Bradley, with 30-9 mark in Springfield. Missouri State has won the last seven meetings, including rallying from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit last season in JQH Arena.

Scouting Illinois State
Illinois State is 4-12 overall and 1-4 in MVC play, with its league victory coming against Bradley. Taylor Stewart leads the Redbirds with 11.7 points per game and Brechelle Beachum chips 11.1 per contest. As a team, ISU scores 55.4 points per outing and allows 70.7 while shooting 32.9 percent overall, 26.1 percent from distance and 69.8 percent from the foul line.

Scouting Bradley
Bradley is 5-11 overall and 1-4 in MVC games. Four Braves average at least 9.3 points per game for a balanced offense that averages 62.1 points. Bradley allows 69 points per contest and shoots 37.3 percent overall, 29.6 percent on 3-pointers and 67.5 percent from the free throw line.
