The Missouri Southern men's cross country team placed 17th overall in the 2014 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships held in Louisville, Ky. at EP "Tom" Sawyer State Park.

With the course being wet and muddy, the length of the race was shortened from a 10k race to a distance of 9.65k.

Seniors Andrew Webster (pictured) and Eric Schott placed 72nd and 73rd individually, just 1/100th of a second behind each other with Webster finishing the 9.6k course in a time of 32:08.70 and 32:08.80, respectively.

Senior Adrian Todd placed 86th overall with a time of 32:17.50, while senior Colton Wooldridge was 130th in a time of 32:45.20. Senior Alex Mason finished 155th with a time of 33:07.70, while junior Nathan Henry placed 189th in a time of 33:49.90 and freshman Ben Southwick placed 203rd in a time of 34:07.30.

Adams State won the team title, putting three runners in the top four, while Grand Valley State, Augustana, Colorado Mines, and Western State rounding out the top five.

With Sioux Falls placing eighth, the Central Region had two schools place in the top eight. That means the Central region (which Southern competes in) will receive five bids to the 2015 National Championships, which will be hosted by Missouri Southern.
