Running back Kareem Hunt, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs Friday after a video showing him kicking and shoving a woman surfaced on TMZ, apologized to Chiefs fans today as his former team was defeating the Oakland Raiders.
During an interview with ESPN, Hunt said he lied to the Chiefs.
"I'm very embarrassed about it. I'm ashamed of myself," Hunt said. "I just want to do whatever it takes to earn people's trust back."
Hunt said seeing the video for the first time was a revelation.
"I realized what I did once I saw the video. It was really tough to watch. I'm not that type of person."
The accompanying video is from Kansas City's 41 Action News.
