Yankees, Angels interested in David Freese

The most valuable player of the 2011 World Series, home-town boy David Freese, may not be with the St. Louis Cardinals when spring training arrives.

With Kolten Wong ready to take over second base and third base being Matt Carpenter's natural position, the Cardinals are listening to offers for their third baseman.

The Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees have indicated interest in Freese. Though Freese had an off season in 2012, the Cardinals are reportedly reluctant to trade him.

Outfielder Peter Bourjos and shortstop Erick Aybar have been mentioned as possibilities if the Cards trade with the Angels.
