The St. Louis Cardinals signed free agent shortstop Jhonny Peralta, who played for Detroit in 2013:
Peralta, 31, is a career .268 hitters, with 156 home runs and 698 RBI in a career spanning the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers from 2003 to 2013.
Peralta is from the Dominican Republic and has played in the last 3 All-Star games on the American League team.
St. Louis signed Peralta to a four-year contract.
