David Freese, who was traded, along with relief pitcher Fernando Salas to the Los Angeles Angels today for outfielder Pete Journo and a minor league outfielder, has no regrets about his time with the St. Louis Cardinals:
“My time in St. Louis has been awesome,” Freese said in a conference call from Anaheim. “To be a Padre was great and then to randomly get brought home by (John Mozeliak in his first deal) it was kind of heaven on earth. We had some great runs. We did some exceptional things and we won a World Series. You can call this a fresh start. You just close this chapter and move on.”
