Just because Joplin city officials are talking with the owners of the minor league El Paso Diablos of the American Association about bringing that team here does not mean it will happen.
Nor is there any guarantee that Joplin baseball fans will have any say in the naming of the team if it does come here.
With those caveats out of the way, let's pick a name for the next team to call Joe Becker Stadium home.
Some might suggest the Joplin Miners looking back into the colorful history both of minor league baseball here and the city itself; those without a clue might want to call it Soaring Heights.
