MSSU men's basketball signs 6-7 swing guard from Maryland

(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Missouri Southern men's basketball coach Jeff Boschee has announced the signing of Jalen Parker to a National Letter of Intent to attend Southern and participate in basketball beginning next fall.

Parker is a 6-7, 175 pound swing guard that hails from Baltimore, Md., but was a teammate of current Lion Winston Dessesow at Admiral Farragut Academy in Florida.

Parker has been a four-year letter winner for the Blue Jackets and coach Julian Allen. As a junior, Parker averaged 12 points and eight rebounds, while putting up his best performance in a 22-point, 12-rebound outing.

The son of Tosha Moore and Clyde Parker, Jalen plans to major in sociology at Southern.

"We are excited about the addition of Jalen (Parker)," Boschee said. He comes from a great program and has tremendous length and size with the ability to play multiple positions. He is a outstanding young man and fits the mold of the type of players we want in our program. We are excited for him to join our other three freshman signees."
