The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams picked up three more All-Amercian performances in the final day of the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Pittsburg State University.
The Southern women finished 11th overall in the team standings and the men finished 16th.
Allie Heckemeyer started things off with an All-American performance in the pentathlon to finish third in the event with a new school record of 3,854 points, breaking her previous record. Heckemeyer finished third in both the high jump and long jump to highlight the event. Heckemeyer then followed up that performance with an All-American effort in the triple jump to finish sixth with a distance of 40-06.75. Already the record holder in that event, Heckemeyer's effort is the third-longest triple jump in school history.
Bryan Burns picked up his second All-American performance of the Championships with a seventh-place finish in the shot put in a distance of 58-04.00.
In other action, Kennan Harrison, just missed out on an All-American performance with a ninth-place finish in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 50-04.00 which is the third-best mark in school history in the event.
in all, the Lions had seven All-American performances at the Championships and a complete list is below.
The Lions will be next weekend as Southern starts back up in the outdoor season with events at both Washington University in St. Louis and Emporia State.
