Edmond, Okla. - The Missouri Southern men's gold team finished day one 31 shots off the leader in Central Oklahoma (300) on the East Course - Golden Tee inside Oak Tree Golf Club Monday afternoon.
Senior Connor Neil led the Lions with a 79 in the 26th spot. Teammate junior Tristan Haltom shot an 80 score to be tied for 33rd, followed by freshman and brother Taylor Haltom who ended the day in 47th after recording a score of 83.
Tripper Jenson closed out in a tie for 62nd with an 85 and Logan Greer rounded out the squad four shots back of Jenson at 89 and tied for 80th.
UCO's Alexander Hughes is ahead of the field by shooting one under par at 69, while Oklahoma Stat's Sam Stevens finished even and one behind the leader.
The Lions will back on the course tomorrow for only one round because oncoming weather conditions that could affect the green.
