(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)
Missouri Southern senior guard Taevaunn Prince has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Prince, a 6-3 native of Toronto, tied a career high with 38 points and added 13 rebounds in the Lions road game at Nebraska-Kearney this past weekend. The senior from Toronto nearly helped the Lions erase a 30-point deficit in the second half when he helped lead two separate runs (one of 17-8 and another of 19-8) to get within ten, but couldnt pull off the comeback. He went 12-17 from the field and 13-14 from the free throw line, playing all 40 minutes of the contest.
Prince shares this week's honor with Northwest Missouri's Connor Crooker. The Lions are in action tonight, taking on Fort Hays State in an MIAA road contest. Tip off is slated for 7:30 pm.
