Taevaunn Prince added to Small College Player of the Year watch list

Missouri Southern senior guard Taevaunn Prince has been named to the Bevo France Award Watch list, an award that is given to the top player in small college basketball.

The watch list includes players from D2, D3, NAIA, the USCAA and the NCCCAA. The list includes 100 of the finest players this year in small college basketball.

This season, Prince is among the best in Division II. He leads the country in free throws made and attempted, while ranking second in both points per game and total points. He ranks fifth in total rebounds, while ranking 8th in defensive rebounds per game. He ranks 13th in total field goals and rebounds per game, while ranking 17th in double-doubles, 26th in total minutes and 36th in both total field goals attempted and minutes per game.

In the MIAA, Prince leads the league in defensive rebounds per game, double-doubles, free throws attempted and made, as well as scoring, rebounding, total field goals made and total rebounds. He ranks second in total minutes and fourth in total field goal attempts.

Prince is among five total MIAA players on the list. The Lions will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as Southern plays at Pittsburg State at 3:30 pm.
