The Missouri Southern women's track and field team picked up four provisional performances and an event win Saturday as the Lions opened up the 2015-16 indoor season at the Crimson and Gold Classic hosted by Pittsburg State inside the Plaster Center.
Kaylee Morgan won the long jump and picked up a provisional distance in the process as she leaped to a distance of 18-03.25. Brittani Reagan was third in the event with a distance of 18-01.75, while Allie Heckemeyer placed 11th and Sierra Barrett was 15th.
Reagan earned a provisional mark in the triple jump, placing third in a distance of 38-08.75. Heckemeyer placed seventh in the event.
Victoria Foley was second in the weight throw with a provisional distance of 54-06.75, while Katie Skelton was fourth in the shot put in a distance of 37-06.75.
Melanie Bower placed fifth in the pole vault with a provisional height of 11-11.75, while Kylee Hulsey was sixth in the high jump with a height of 4-11.00.
Morgan was fifth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.06, whileRachel Ray was ninth. Soley Webb was seventh in the 400m dash, while Ray was eighth. Emily Harris placed second in the 3k with a time of 10:10.65, while Christian Provence was ninth.
The Lions will be off for the Christmas Break and will be back in action on January 22-23 when Southern plays host to the MSSU Invitational.
