The Missouri Southern volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, the organization announced.
To earn the award, a team must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The Lions carried a 3.38 GPA as eight individuals carried GPAs of 3.3 or higher and one had a perfect 4.00 mark.
Southern is coached by John Napier in his second season at the school. The Lions were one of just six MIAA schools to earn the honor.
