MSSU track programs earn academic praise

The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field programs earned national academic praise as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its academic awards.

The women's track and field team, led by head coach Patty Vavra, had eight individuals earn honors, as well as taking home the Team Academic Award. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either indoor or outdoor seasons.

Kaitlyn Belisle, Victoria Foley, Emily Harris, Ashleigh McFarland, Brittani Reagan, Dana Roberson, Katie Skelton and Allie Webb all earned individual honors for the team. To earn team honors, a team must post a cumulative 3.00 grade point average. The women's program carries a 3.33 GPA.
