MSSU baseball picked sixth in MIAA

The Missouri Southern baseball program has been picked to finish sixth in the league this year as the MIAA released the preseason coaches poll today. 
The Lions return 18 players from last year's squad, including six position starters and five pitchers. Junior Payton Walker returns as the lone All-MIAA pick from last season. 
Emporia State was picked to win the league, earning ten of the 14 first-place votes. Central Missouri was picked second, with Central Oklahoma, Missouri Western and Nebraska-Kearney rounding out the top five. 
Southern was sixth, followed by Southwest Baptist, Northeastern State, Washburn, Lindenwood, Fort Hays, Pittsburg State, Northwest Missouri and Lincoln. 
The Lions open up the 2015 regular season with four games at home against Upper Iowa on Feb. 14 and 15. First pitch on both days is slated for noon.
