MSSU volleyball to play Lindenwood, Central Missouri

The Missouri Southern volleyball team heads to Lindenwood on Friday and 20th-ranked Central Missouri on Saturday in MIAA volleyball action.

Southern is 9-9 overall and 2-3 in the MIAA and sit in a four-way tie for sixth place in the MIAA standings with Washburn, Emporia State and Lindenwood.

The Lions are 12th nationally and third in the MIAA in total team blocks this season. Freshman outside hitter Janelle Brehm is third nationally and leads the MIAA in total attacks, while ranking 11th nationally and second in the MIAA in attacks per set and 29th nationally in total kills. Sophomore blocker Alicia Pickett is fifth nationally and second in the MIAA in total blocks and 19th nationally and tops in the MIAA in blocks per set. Morgan Nash ranks 20th nationally and fourth in the MIAA in total assists.

Lindenwood comes into the weekend matches 10-8 overal and 2-3 in MIAA play and have won two in a row with wins last weekend at Emporia State and Washburn.

Central Missouri is ranked 20th in Division II and is 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the MIAA, tied for second place. The Jennies have won seven of their last eight matches.
