The Missouri Southern men's and women's cross country teams will open up the 2017 season this Saturday as the Lions travel to Southwest Baptist to compete in the Bearcat Invitational.
The event will be ran at the Bolivar City Municipal Golf Course. The Southern men open the season as the top-ranked team in the NCAA Division II Central Region and are ranked tenth nationally. The Lions return four All-MIAA performers and were picked as the preseason favorites to win the MIAA.
The Southern women were picked to finish fourth in the MIAA and return one All-MIAA performer.
The women's race will begin at 8:30 am, while the men will run at 9 am. The women will run a 5k course, while the men will run a four mile course. Live results for the race will be posted once the link becomes available.
