MSSU men's, women's track qualify eight for NCAA Division II Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams have qualified eight individuals in 12 different events for the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held on May 24-26 in Charlotte, NC.

The 13th-ranked women have qualified five individuals in seven events. Allie Heckemeyer qualified in both the triple jump and heptathlon, while Jasmine Deckard has qualified for both the 100m and the 200m. Destiny Akannam has qualified for the 400m, while both Emily Presley and Elena Bisotto have qualified for the pole vault.

The 19th-ranked men have qualified three individuals in five events. Bryan Burns has qualified in the shot put, discus and hammer throw, while Matt Willis has qualified in the 400m hurdles and Brendan Watkins has qualified in the triple jump.
