The Missouri Southern baseball team had two more named All-America today as Chris Hoffmanand Cody Hutchinson were both named to the Daktronics/SID's All-America team.
Hoffman was a third-team selection at utility-pitcher. This season, Hoffman was one of the most complete players in the MIAA this year. He led the league and the Lions with a .430 batting average, while ranking second in the MIAA in total hits. Not to be done as a hitter, Hoffman was also a member of the Lions' weekend rotation this year, going 4-1 with a 4.19 ERA in five starts. He had two complete games, while striking out 25 and walking just five.
He is a semi-finalist for the Tino Martinez Award, which is given annually to Division II's top player. Hoffman was an All-Region pick on two different ballots.
Hutchinson was an honorable-mention selection at pitcher. This season, Hutchinson led the MIAA in wins this season and was third in earned run average as he finished 10-1 on the season with a 2.87 ERA, seven complete games, 88 strikeouts and only 20 walks. He also was tied for the league-lead in complete games. He was a first-team All-Region pick on three different ballots.
