MSSU soccer signs Division I transfer

Missouri Southern soccer coach Alese Woolard has announced the signing of Cassidy Schoolfield, who transfers to Southern from Division I Mississippi Valley State.

Schoolfield, a 5-4 defender and native of Bixby, Okla., transfers to Southern after one season at Division I Mississippi Valley. She played in 12 games for the Devilettes as a true freshman. Schoolfield recorded two shots on the season and had two starts, one against Louisiana - Laffayette and Louisiana - Monroe.

Schoolfield prepped at Bixby High School, but played her club soccer for the Hurricane FC and Blitz Navy. She played three years of basketball at Bixby where she was a point guard and helped her team to a state runner up finish.

Schoolfield is the daughter of Ryan and Angie Schoolfield. She is a criminal justice major at Southern. Her brother Jeff Sumner is a wrestler at Carson-Newman.
